Zagłębiowski Marathon
The Zagłębiowski Marathon is a 42.195 km night marathon shared by Sosnowiec and Dąbrowa Górnicza in Poland’s Zagłębie Dąbrowskie region. Runners start at 8:00 PM from Zagłębiowski Park Sportowy, with a 6-hour limit to reach the finish. The race is organized jointly by the two neighboring cities, making the event feel more regional than city-only. The route leaves Sosnowiec, heads to Dąbrowa Górnicza, and returns to Sosnowiec, using parks and connecting roads between the two cities. Its main landmark is the pier at Pogoria 3, which sits at halfway and also serves as the biggest fan zone and the changeover point for the “Sztafety Pół na Pół” relay. The event has roots in the Pogorie area of Dąbrowa Górnicza, while Sosnowiec adds the start, finish, and a large part of the running identity.
