The Hallwilerseelauf is a Swiss running event around Lake Hallwil, offering distances from 5 kilometers to a half marathon. Held in October, it has taken place annually since 1975, placing it within the tradition of long-running local races rather than a one-off festival. The event accommodates various participants, allowing individuals or teams to compete, with shorter and longer race options suitable for both casual runners and those targeting the half marathon.
The course winds through the lake area, passing villages like Aesch and Meisterschwanden. The inaugural event featured a challenging muddy field-road section. The race embraces its Swiss setting and includes several race-day amenities: finisher prizes, a finisher vest, participant photos, live music by Copyplay, DJ Brasil providing sound, and commentary from francomarvulli. A runner booklet details routes, start times, catering, and practical information.
