Challenge Vieux Boucau

Challenge Vieux Boucau is an October triathlon held in Vieux-Boucau-les-Bains, located on France’s Atlantic coast. The primary Middle Distance race follows a half-Ironman format, featuring a 1.9 km swim, a 91 km bike leg, and a 21.1 km run. The event also includes Standard, Sprint, and Junior races, catering to athletes seeking shorter distances and younger participants. The swim takes place in a protected marine lake, free from waves and currents, offering a distinct experience compared to open-ocean swims. The course crosses sand dunes, the Atlantic coast, valleys, pine forest trails, and level terrain. Both the Middle Distance bike and run segments have a listed elevation gain of only 5 m. Professional athletes compete for PTO World Ranking points and prize money, while the weekend also provides a "Tri together" option and includes distances from a 750 m Sprint swim to Junior run-bike-run events.
