EstrelAçor Ultra Trail guides runners along hilly mountain paths in Portugal’s Estrela Mountains, near Cortes do Meio and Covilha. The series takes place annually between April and October, offering participants multiple options: a long ultra distance, a 103 km race, 48 km, 32 km, 16 km, and a distinct 16 km walk. The courses feature trail surfaces, not roads, with descriptions including countryside, mountain-range, rural, nature, and single-track segments. Both the start and finish are located at Luna Hotel Serra da Estrela in Covilha, structuring the event around a single mountain base rather than a point-to-point format. It is designed for experienced trail runners seeking distance and elevation gain, though the shorter race and the non-competitive 16 km walk accommodate those desiring a less demanding mountain outing. Registration provides a goodie bag, a disposable timing chip, aid stations, nutrition points, and medical support.
