Douro Ultra Trail 2026

Douro Ultra Trail is a trail running series held in early October in Peso da Régua, located in Portugal’s Douro region. The race offers distances from an 8 km walk/trail option up to 15 km, 25 km, 28 km, 50 km, and a 100 km ultra. This event accommodates both new trail runners and those seeking a full mountain ultra. It is organized by Nexplore and is part of the UTMB World Series circuit. The routes traverse the Alto Douro Vinhateiro and Serra do Marão. Runners will pass through Douro Valley vineyards, mountain paths, forest roads, villages, and some paved sections. The 100 km Ultra Trail Endurance and the 50 km Trail Longo are exclusively for adults, with options for individual and pair entries. Elevation gain, self-sufficiency requirements, and strict cut-off times are significant factors. The event also maintains individual, pair, and team rankings with prizes for the top finishers.
