The Niederrhein Gravel NRG returns for its second edition in 2026, following a successful premiere in 2025. Participants can expect new routes through the forests, fields, and gravel paths of the Niederrhein region, featuring new highlights, picturesque rest stops, and plenty of gravel riding. In 2026, there will be 110 km and 160 km gravel tour options. The NRG emphasizes the overall experience, including camaraderie, nature, adventure, and reaching the common finish line, rather than just speed. The start and finish will be at Landhaus Beckmann, offering excellent catering, a cozy atmosphere, and a finisher party. A new challenge, the NRG300, offers a 300 km unsupported gravel ride for those seeking an extreme test of endurance, focus, and willpower. The NRG300 includes a Friday evening program, a fully spotted route, live tracking, and a finisher buffet. The NRG is an event for everyone who enjoys riding, camaraderie, and nature. It is not a race, and all paces are welcome, whether riding leisurely or with sporting ambition. Participants should be aware that October days are short, weather can be unpredictable, and the NRG, despite lacking significant elevation gain, is not an easy ride. Good planning and preparation are essential. The event offers opportunities for competitive riders to test themselves against others from the gravel scene. Ultimately, participants create their own unforgettable event. The routes in 2026 will again start at Landhaus Beckmann and immediately enter the "Hochwald & Tüschenwald" area, known for its initial climbs and authentic gravel feel. The route then leads past Weeze into the neighboring country of the Netherlands, through the Maasduinen nature reserve. Along the Maas river, expect long field and forest paths, genuine gravel riding, and Dutch flair. Near the "Reichswald," riders will face challenging climbs before rolling towards the finish. The 160 km route includes two extra loops that eventually rejoin the main route. Both the 110 km and 160 km routes offer nature, challenge, and flow for gravel enthusiasts. At the start, fresh coffee will be available. Along the route, rest stops will provide refreshments, offering both sweet and savory options for energy and relaxation. After the finish, a vegan finisher buffet from Landhaus Beckmann will be served, described as delicious, sustainable, and a perfect reward after a long day. A finisher beer is also included. All aspects are covered by the registration fee, allowing participants to focus on riding, enjoying the experience, and crossing the finish line.
