Om detta lopp
The L3 - Laatzen-Leinewiesen-Lauf is a small landscape run in Rethen, Lower Saxony, set around the Leine meadows near Laatzen and Sarstedt. It provides approximately 10 km, 22 km, and 47 km distances, with the longest race being an ultramarathon rather than a standard city marathon. The field is limited to 60 runners, indicating a low-key event with a self-reliant atmosphere. The course is unmarked; runners navigate using a GPS track provided by email about a week prior and attend a brief mandatory briefing before the start.
The routes consist of connected loops: the 10 km uses the Laatzener Leinemasch loop, the 22 km uses the Giftener See loop, and the 47 km combines longer sections over slightly rolling terrain through the Leine meadows. The profile offers sufficient variation without being a mountain race. Aid is basic and practical, with cola, water, fruit, and snacks available at the start, aid point, and finish. The aid station may be unstaffed. Runners check in at refreshment points and must bring their own bottles, hydration packs, or cups. The ultra is intended for experienced runners capable of handling long distances, navigation, and a 7.5-hour time limit.
