Top Dog 24 Adventure Race sends teams into the Australian Capital Territory for a non-stop 24-hour race based around trekking, mountain biking, and kayaking. Stromlo Forest Park hosts the event, but the racing area changes each edition, and the course setters may add extra disciplines or challenges. Teams race in pairs or fours, using map and compass on an unmarked route rather than following signs or tape. The route is handed out only hours before the start, so teams must plan quickly and continuously decide on speed, rest, and how much navigational risk they can afford.
