Mudskipper US SoCal - Silverwood offers open-water swimming and swimrun racing at Silverwood Lake State Recreation Area in Southern California, set against the San Bernardino Mountains. This marks the first Mudskipper event on the west coast, taking place in a fall lakeside environment and designed for diverse athletes. Swimmers can compete in open-water races, while swimrun participants transition between running and swimming without changing attire. The Swimrun Mini spans 8.5K, suitable for beginners, featuring a mix of paved paths and rugged trails. The 15K Short Course presents a greater challenge with technical terrain, reservoir swims in restricted areas, and segments along the Pacific Crest Trail. Swimrun racers wear their running shoes during swims, with wetsuits optional for added warmth and buoyancy. Mudskipper emphasizes an eco-friendly approach to the event, with support from Sumarpo Wetsuits, attracting both novice and seasoned swimrun competitors.
