O tomto preteku
Broken Rock Trail Runs takes place at Forrest Village, located at Bethel Horizons near Dodgeville, Wisconsin, within the Driftless Area. This looped trail race offers three distances: a 50K (approximately 30.75 miles), a 20-mile race (approximately 20.5 miles), and a 10-mile race (approximately 10.25 miles). The structure is straightforward: one loop for the 10-mile, two for the 20-mile, and three for the 50K. Each loop includes about 1,100 feet of elevation gain. The race is cup-less, requiring participants to carry their own hydration.
Each loop combines mountain bike singletrack, grass paths, hiking trails, short paved sections, and gravel, ensuring varied terrain without becoming overly technical. A distinctive element is the steep rock-stair climb, named Broken Rock, situated near the finish line, which runners in the longer distances encounter multiple times. Aid stations are positioned twice per loop at Ropes Course and Forrest Village, both offering restrooms. Hot food is available at Forrest Village. Pacers are permitted on the final lap for the 50K. Crew and drop bag access is provided for the 50K and 20-mile races. The event features chip timing, custom bibs, long-sleeve performance shirts, finisher medals, and overall awards by distance. A portion of the proceeds and donations benefits a charity.
