Zemplén Ring – Kerékpáros teljesítménytúra

Zemplén Ring is a paved cycling performance tour in Hungary's Zemplén area, with a morning start and a finish-center schedule that wraps up by late afternoon. Riders choose between a 95.5 km long route with 1,300 m of climbing and a 63 km short route with 700 m of climbing, so it suits fit club riders as well as newer cyclists who want a shorter but still hilly day. The event is organized by the Hungarian Cycling Tourism Association and Kisvárda and Surroundings Cyclists SE, with support from the Active Hungary Program. Both distances begin with a controlled slow roll for the first 4 km, and helmets are required. The long route has aid stations at 40 km and 71 km, while the short route uses the 40 km stop, where the two courses split; stops provide isotonic drink, water, fruit, and sweet and salty snacks. Riders need their own bottles because plastic cups are not supplied. The roads are paved throughout, but some surfaces are rough, including a notably poor 2 km section, so road bikes are possible with care. There are traffic restrictions but no full road closures, and every finisher gets a custom medal, a finisher package, and a meat or meat-free meal at the finish.
