Tortoise Trot 5K and Trail Run

The Tortoise Trot is a 5K-ish trail run and walk at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area outside Las Vegas. Both the 5K and the longer 17K start and finish at the Visitor Center. The 5K is untimed, capped at 300 participants, and offers a virtual option for those who wish to complete the distance elsewhere. The 5K course uses a mix of road and trail on the Moenkopi loop. The 17K sends up to 50 runners onto rugged desert trails and sections of the park drive. The 17K is runners-only, untimed, and has a 3-hour time limit. Strollers and dogs are not permitted on either course. Children ages 5 to 11 require an accompanying adult in the 5K. Friends of Red Rock Canyon will mail a finisher medal to virtual 5K participants who complete their run or walk.
