Sobre esta prova
The JOC Junior Olympic Cup Track is Japan’s youth track cycling competition for riders aged 18 and under, held annually in August at Izu Velodrome. The Japan Cycling Federation organizes the event, dividing the field into Junior, U17, and U15 categories to ensure fair competition among different age groups.
The racing takes place on the velodrome, featuring short timed efforts, head-to-head sprints, pursuits, points races, scratch races, and keirin, with the specific disciplines varying by age and gender. Junior men contest the most events, including the 1km time trial, sprint, 3km individual pursuit, 24km points race, scratch, and keirin. Younger U15 riders concentrate on the time trial and individual pursuit. The event previously coincided with the All Japan Amateur Cycling Championship and later the national omnium championship, but it now operates as a standalone competition for Japan’s emerging track cyclists.
