Bumrun Vancouver is a 5K walk/run at Jericho Beach Park in Vancouver, held in late May with a 9:00 a.m. start. It is a charity race for colon cancer screening and prevention, with entry including Bumrun swag, a finisher medal, and a personal fundraising page for participants.
The event is part of the wider Bumrun series, which has run 5K events for 15 years and raised more than $1.8 million net for colon cancer charities. Funds support colon cancer research, patient programs for families living with the disease, and screening awareness, with the Vancouver event partnered with the Colorectal Cancer Resource & Action Network. Families can add Little Bums, a 500-metre run for children 12 and under that starts shortly before the 5K, and people outside Vancouver can join through a virtual 5K from anywhere in Canada.
