San Antonio Spartan Weekend 2026

San Antonio Spartan Weekend takes place in November at Sandy Oaks Ranch in Devine, Texas, located about 40 minutes southwest of San Antonio. This is a two-day obstacle race weekend held on natural ranch trails. The event offers various formats, including a 1 to 3 km kids race, the 5 km Sprint with 20 obstacles, the 10 km Super with 25 obstacles, and the 21 km Beast with 30 obstacles. The more demanding options feature 4-hour and 12-hour Hurricane Heats. This variety ensures the weekend accommodates first-timers, families, regular obstacle racers, and athletes seeking a significant challenge. The course incorporates rolling hills, creek crossings, and trails abundant with wildlife across the ranch. Classic Spartan obstacles like walls, ropes, and mud pits are also part of the challenge. Spectators are welcome, which is beneficial as the event features multiple start and finish lines because of the different distances and heat types running throughout the weekend. Spartan Race, founded by Joe De Sena, focuses on testing endurance, strength, and agility over pure running speed.
