The Dovedale Dash is a 4 3/4-mile cross-country race held around Thorpe, near Ashbourne and Dovedale, in the southern Peak District of Derbyshire. It attracts approximately 1,200 to 1,400 participants, including runners and walkers of all skill levels, resulting in a more diverse field than a race limited to club members.
The course follows field paths and open terrain through the valleys of the River Dove and the River Manifold. A notable feature is the River Dove crossing at the Stepping Stones, where participants must navigate the water and uneven stones as an integral part of the competition.
