RUR (Rheingold Ultrarace) 555

The RUR 200 Bambini Lauf is a 201 km trail ultrarace based in Remagen, Germany, on the Rhine, scheduled for October. It is non-stop and self-sufficient, requiring runners to organize their own support rather than relying on extensive aid stations. The route is hilly, featuring approximately 12,500 meters of elevation gain, and combines paths, gravel, and asphalt. The course utilizes two main Rhine-side long-distance trails. It follows the Rheinburgenweg from Bingen to Wiesbaden before continuing on the Rheinsteig toward Bonn, then returning to Remagen. This is a small, invitation-only pilot project, operated on a cost-reimbursement basis, with Michael Vorwerg as the organizer and contact. Finishers have a 216-hour time limit. The event has no ranking eligibility or IAU label, positioning it as a challenging self-managed adventure rather than a traditional competitive ultra.
