Om dette løpet
The Boston 10K for Women begins on Beacon Street near Boston Common, guiding participants through a 10-kilometer route across Boston each fall. Established in 1977, it holds the distinction of being New England's longest-running women's sporting event. Over 6,000 women compete, establishing it as the region's largest all-female sporting event, attracting a diverse field from elite runners aiming for personal bests to novices and walkers sharing the starting line.
The route crosses Back Bay, crosses the Charles River, and continues alongside the river, offering perspectives of Boston, Cambridge, and the Back Bay skyline. The event also features complimentary Kids’ Races for those 12 and younger, extending the day's activities beyond the main 10K. A significant tradition involves personal and familial participation, with mothers, daughters, sisters, and friends returning together, alongside athletes from local and distant areas converging in Boston for a race centered on speed, strength, and solidarity.
