Gran Fondo Gubbio 2026

Gran Fondo Gubbio, also known as Gran Fondo del Montefeltro, is a road cycling event held in Gubbio, crossing the regions of Umbria and Marche. Participants can select a 138 km route featuring 2,095 meters of elevation gain or an 80 km route with 1,440 meters. This course presents a challenging, hilly terrain rather than a flat, fast ride. The inaugural event attracted approximately 700 cyclists, including participants from sports clubs throughout Italy. The course leads from Gubbio towards Acqualagna and returns, crossing the Umbrian-Marche Apennines. It includes short ascents, rapid descents, and vistas opening from Umbrian hills to higher Apennine summits. Key climbs that define the ride's difficulty are Nogna (5.3 km at 5.4% average, with sections reaching 18.9%), Valico Pantani (4.3 km at 4.9%), Serravalle di Carda (8.6 km on the long course), and Moria (2.2 km at 9.2% average). The route also passes through the Montefeltro region and the truffle-rich area near Acqualagna, adding a local culinary and cultural dimension to the event beyond the cycling itself.
