J-Town Jog 5K and Kids 1 Mile Dash

The J-Town Jog is Johnstown’s annual 5K run/walk and Kids 1 Mile Dash, held to open BBQ Days. It is designed for runners and walkers of all ages and abilities, with a family-first setup that lets children, first-timers, regular runners, and walkers join the same community morning. The race uses chip timing, with the timing chip attached to the back of each bib and results measured from each person’s own start-line crossing to finish-line crossing. After the run, participants head into BBQ Days for music, food, entertainment, and local vendors, while volunteers help make the event work; past editions have supported local high school athletics, the library, and youth groups.
