Storstenshöjden 2027

Storstenshöjden is a mid-February trail ultra held in Garphyttan, Örebro County, Sweden. The race offers two distances: Storstenshöjden 50 miles (84.1 km) with 5,780 m of elevation gain, and Storstenshöjden 100 miles (168.4 km) with 11,550 m of elevation gain. Both events are part of the UTMB Index, allowing participants to earn UTMB qualification and ranking points. The course crosses forest paths and rugged mountain trails near Garphyttan. The significant elevation figures suggest a challenging woodland ultra rather than a fast, runnable course. The participant field seems select and dedicated, not a large-scale event. A past SkogsUltra edition within this race series, covering 63 km with 4,050 m of climbing, recorded only 22 finishers. Results from that edition indicated strong Swedish club-level competition, with finishing times ranging from under ten hours to over sixteen hours, reflecting the demanding terrain and the endurance required.
