Castellum Trail

ランニング： 地元の人たちはまずモンテゴ川沿いを走るんだ。Parque Verde do Mondego、Choupalinho、Parque Manuel Bragaあたりは、Z2ペースがすごく楽に感じるからね。市街地の方に行くと、Jardim da Sereia、Jardim de Santa Cruz、Penedo da Saudade、University of CoimbraのBotanical Gardenあたりは、もっとキツいインターバル練習に使えるよ。Mata Nacional do ChoupalやMata Nacional de Vale de Canasは、静かにbase milesを積むのにぴったり。RunAway Clubは、イージーペースのランニングや毎週の集合場所、その後のコーヒーとかで、みんなで楽しく走ってるよ。メンバーは1,049人いるんだ。カレンダーにはSummer Run Coimbra、Eco Semi-Marathon de Coimbra、Trail de Conímbriga Terras de Sicóみたいなレースが目玉だね。

サイクリング： 地元の人はまず川沿いの道を軽く流して、それから近くの丘の方に登って、もうちょっと頑張る感じかな。Mondego River Loopは安定して走れるし、University Hill Climbは街からすぐの場所でパンチの効いた練習ができるよ。University Hill Climbは9 kmで獲得標高696 m。ダートのルートは9 kmあって、ハードな日にぴったりだね。地元のクラブだとAssociação Académica de CoimbraやClube de Futebol União de Coimbraがあるよ。

シーズン： コインブラだと4月と10月が一番トレーニングしやすい時期かな。ロングライドには十分暖かいし、ランニングセッションにもちょうどいいキレがある。夏は7月と8月が乾燥してるね。年間で30°Cを超える日が32日くらいあるから、地元の人たちは早朝から走り始めて、Z2をしっかり守りつつ、インターバルは涼しい時間帯にやるようにしてる。モンテゴ川の氾濫原のおかげで、街は大西洋の影響を受けるから、夏も冬も内陸部よりは穏やかだよ。冬でも両方のスポーツはできるけど、気温が0°Cを下回ることもあるし、霜が降りるのが年間平均19日。トレイルやcyclocrossの日は、ちょっと見極めが必要だね。
