Engeløya Rundt 2026

Engeløya Rundt is a paved-road cycling race starting in Bogen on the mainland in Steigen, northern Norway, with 35 km and 55 km options available in early October. Participants depart from Bogen, crossing bridges and causeways towards Engeløya. They will complete an island loop just over 30 km before returning to the mainland start-finish area. The course is mostly gentle, with much of the loop near sea level and the highest point under 50 meters. The only notable climb is Mjeldskardet, rising about fifty meters. Engeløya is a designated national cultural landscape, meaning the route crosses farmland, shoreline, and local points of interest like the farm shop Det sorte får and the cafe-gallery LefsPia. The island also features Batterie Dietl, a war museum housing one of the largest cannons from World War II, a village museum at Laskestad, Viking-age artifacts at Vollmoen, vistas across Vestfjorden towards the Lofoten Wall, and Bøsanden, a kilometer-long sandy beach.
