Trail dello Stretto

The Trail dello Stretto is a 23-kilometer trail race held in the Peloritani Mountains above Messina, featuring over 1,400 meters of elevation gain. It begins at the Musolino equipped area and is part of the Trail in Sicilia circuit. This is a mountain race suited for runners prepared for steep terrain, not a flat road race. The course ascends through the hills near the Strait of Messina, offering views of both the Tyrrhenian and Ionian Seas. Participants can also see the Aeolian Islands in one direction and Calabria in the other. The event attracts runners from all over Sicily, from northern Italy, and from countries including Latvia and Brazil. Prior rainfall can make the challenging course more difficult.
