The Hurt 2026

The Hurt begins near Guildford on Hound House Road, approximately 45 minutes from London, leading runners into the Surrey Hills and Hurtwood Forest. This autumn off-road event offers 15k and 21k distances. Organizers characterize it as a challenging combination of fell, cross country, and trail running, distinct from a smooth park path race. The course incorporates forest tracks and uneven terrain, featuring rocks, mud, streams, road crossings, and a brief back-road segment. Trail shoes are advised. Participants should be aware of vehicles at crossings and share trails with horses, mountain bikers, and dog walkers. Both distances commence simultaneously in the morning. Runners receive their timing chip and race number on race day. Amenities include free parking, restrooms, refreshments, and water stations along the route.
