Kaisermarathon Söll - Tour de Tirol 2026

The Tour de Tirol is a three-day stage race held in Söll am Wilden Kaiser, Tirol. It covers approximately 75 km with around 3,500 m of elevation gain over the weekend. The middle stage is the Kaisermarathon Söll, a 42.195 km mountain marathon. This series has been held annually since 2006. The first stage, the Söller Zehner, is a 10 km race starting in the village center. It features three hilly laps on gravel, meadow, and asphalt, totaling over 300 m of climbing before returning to the start. Sunday's event is the Pölven Trail, a 23 km trail race with 1,200 m of ascent, featuring only about 2 km on asphalt. The Kaisermarathon begins in Söll at 698 m. It proceeds through Scheffau and Ellmau, ascending towards the Hartkaiser (1,555 m) before descending to Hexenwasser at 38.6 km. The race concludes with a steep final climb to the summit of the Hohe Salve (1,829 m). All three stages have been based in Söll since 2011. The Sunday trail replaced an earlier flat half marathon that involved repeated laps around Söll or Walchsee. The event also accommodates participants beyond the full stage racers, offering a Friday relay during the Söller Zehner and children's races before the 10 km event and during the Pölven Trail. The Kaisermarathon has a significant mountain-running heritage, having previously hosted the Long Distance Mountain Running World Championship.
