Informazioni su questa gara
Gravel 25. Alma Mater is a gravel bike race held at Upland Hills Farm in Oxford, Michigan. It offers 13-mile, 25-mile, and 50-mile routes, all beginning and ending on the farm. Riders register on race morning; helmets meeting ANSI or SNELL standards are mandatory. The race takes place on roads open to traffic, requiring participants to follow traffic laws and stop signs, making it a true road gravel race, not a closed course.
The routes primarily consist of gravel and feature the Barr Road climb, the Drahner Road climb, and Oakland County's highest point at 1,250 feet. The 13- and 25-mile routes include Bald Mountain North Recreation singletrack, concluding on Upland Hills private land via rough two-track, sand, and hills that are off-limits for pre-riding. The 50-mile course extends onto longer, rolling roads through Oakland and Lapeer counties, passing along Lake George, before merging with the shorter route. Categories include men, women, youth, Clydesdale, Athena, tandem, single speed, and fat bikes for longer distances, with awards for overall, age-group, and raffle winners.
