Arona will host its first dedicated trail running event this autumn, taking runners through the rural landscapes between Valle San Lorenzo and Arona town centre. The I Arona Trail 2026 – Memorial Óscar Hernández is a 10-kilometre mountain race taking place on Sunday, 11 October. The new event forms part of the municipality’s sporting programme and is designed to combine competitive running with some of the lesser-known rural landscapes of Arona’s medianías. The race will start at 10.00am in Valle San Lorenzo, before following a route through the medianías of the municipality towards Arona Casco. The finish will be at Plaza del Cristo de la Salud, giving runners a route that combines the challenge of trail running with views of the rural side of the municipality.
