The Carrera Rural Benamargosa begins and ends on the river plain in Benamargosa, a village in Málaga province. This June rural running race, organized by the Benamargosa City Council, features a circular 10,000-meter main race for adults. The course follows the Benamargosa riverbed, closely linking the race to the town’s local landscape instead of a typical urban street circuit.
The event is in its fourteenth year and attracts runners from across Málaga province. The Andalusian Athletics Federation validates the times with its timing system, providing the 10K with a formal competitive structure. Prior to the main race, younger participants compete in school races for pre-benjamín, benjamín, alevín, infantil, and cadete age groups, covering distances from 1,000 to 3,000 meters. Medical support will be available for participants on race day.
