Kanonsloop 2026

The Kanonsloop in Groenlo is introducing a new 10-kilometer route called the Bommelronde. This new route will guide runners past recognizable landmarks in and around Groenlo, including Bommelwereld, Camping Marveld, the Groenlose gracht, and the city park De Grolse Weiden. The 38th edition of the Kanonsloop will take place on Sunday, October 4, 2026. The start and finish line for the race will be at the music pavilion on Maliebaan and Wheme. In addition to the new 10-kilometer route, the 5-kilometer Kaakronde will also remain part of the event. For the first time, teams participating in the Business Run can choose between the 5-kilometer and the new 10-kilometer route. A team must consist of at least three and a maximum of five participants, all running the same distance. The Bommelronde will start at 11:00 AM, followed by the 5-kilometer Kaakronde at 11:30 AM. Earlier in the day, at 10:00 AM, there will be a Sponsor Obstacle Run for primary school students from Groenlo. The organization will release more details about the updated course in the coming weeks, with the exact route to be published later and viewable in advance via Strava and Afstandmeten.nl.
