The SPAR Budapest Marathon Festival takes place over a two-day autumn weekend in Budapest, offering races from 5 km up to the full 42.2 km marathon. It stands as Hungary's largest recreational sports event, with almost 41,000 participants recently completing one of its distances by running, walking, or hiking. Saturday hosts the shorter races, while Sunday centers on the longer distances, including the marathon, half marathon, and 30 km. The schedule also features a relay, an open-road race, and an Ötpróba event. Consequently, the participants range from marathon regulars to families, friend groups, walkers, and first-time runners attempting a major city race without the full marathon commitment.
