OCR Lev Prostějov is a 6+ km obstacle race held at Letiště 601. SKSS in Prostějov, within a military area normally off-limits to civilians. The race features over 30 obstacles, positioned to keep runners moving rather than concentrating fatigue in one section of upper-body challenges. It is conducted in partnership with the 601st Special Forces Group, an elite unit of the Czech Army, with professional soldiers overseeing fair competition on the course. A distinct category exists for military competitors, allowing civilian runners to participate alongside individuals who train professionally in this field. The course is situated directly on the military base, with race services concentrated around the start and finish areas: bag check, spacious changing rooms, hot showers, taping, massage, and even a military tent encampment for overnight accommodation. The day's program extends beyond the main race, including family competitions, military equipment exhibitions, rescue and defense demonstrations, a children's obstacle course, archery, and on-site food vendors. Feedback from OCR Lev participants consistently highlights effective organization, the support provided by soldiers and volunteers at obstacles, and notably good post-race amenities, particularly the showers.
