The Záhorácky marathon and half marathon begin and end in Senica, located in front of the sports hall on Továrenská Street. This June road race, held in western Slovakia, features a certified asphalt marathon covering 42.195 kilometers and a half marathon of 21.10 kilometers. The event is also part of three regional running series: the Moravsko-Slovenský bežecký pohár, Grand Prix Záhoria, and Grand Prix Slovácka.
The marathon course departs Senica, heading towards Šajdíkove Humence and Borský Mikuláš, before reaching Šaštín-Stráže and turning back to Senica. More participants run the half marathon than the full marathon. Local runners compete alongside those from the Czech-Slovak border region. Special recognition is given to the top runners from Senica. A tradition honors the fastest runner at the Šaštín turnaround with the Mayor of Šaštín-Stráže award. The marathon has over thirty editions to its name, while the half marathon, though newer, is an established part of the race day.
