Javornícka Stovka 2026

Javornícka Stovka challenges runners and fast hikers over 106 km through Slovakia's Javorníky mountains, from Čadca to Lysá pod Makytou. Held in October, it functions as both a mountain ultramarathon and a long-distance march. Participants include those competing against the clock and those aiming to complete a demanding mountain day. The event begins on Námestie slobody square in Čadca, with a 28-hour overall time limit and a cap of 200 entries. The course features over 4,000 metres of elevation gain and concludes within the elementary school building in Lysá pod Makytou. Support is functional, offering a drop bag around the 50 km mark, baggage transport, medical services, and aid stations providing vegan and gluten-free food. SLOVAK ULTRA TRAIL organizes the event, which is part of the Slovak Ultratrail League and the ITRA National League. It contributes to the UTMB Index and can act as a Western States qualifier. The current Čadca-to-Lysá pod Makytou route is based on earlier iterations that included Považská Bystrica and later incorporated the Makyta area; the inaugural run, named 100 km Javorníkmi, had fewer than 40 participants.
