About this race
The Bieg o Srebrne Czółenko Włókniarskie is a June road race in Zgierz, near Łódź. Its name, meaning “silver shuttle,” references the textile industry and the tool used on a loom. Held since the 1980s, it is one of the oldest races in the Łódź region. The main events offer adults a 10 km open race and a 5 km option. Children and younger runners compete in stadium races over short distances, with courses tailored to age groups.
The race headquarters is at MOSiR Zgierz on Wschodnia Street, housing the event office, start, and finish at the stadium. The city routes traverse central Zgierz streets, including 1 Maja, Plac Kilińskiego, Długa, and the road leading to the Parzęczewska and Staffa junction. These routes are significant enough to impact local traffic and bus schedules. The Association of Polish Textile Workers organizes the event with local partners such as the city and MOSiR. The youth races maintain a nominal one-zloty entry fee.
