Lionel Fox Trail Relay

The Lionel Fox Trail Relay is a four-person team trail relay held at Woodend Beach, north of Christchurch, New Zealand. Adult and junior teams each consist of four runners. Under-18 runners complete one 2 km lap, while senior women run two laps for 4 km per leg. The senior and masters men's race involves four runners, each covering 2 km; these teams can comprise both men and women. The relay format is straightforward: each runner completes a short beach-area trail lap before passing to the next teammate. The event features senior, masters, and under-18 races, accommodating club runners, mixed adult teams, juniors, and community teams. Individuals without a pre-formed team can register and be placed into one. Community teams and late entrants are also able to register on the day before their race.
