THROB TIME RACE is a three-race mountain running series in Hakuba Village, Nagano Prefecture, organized by Team THROB. It begins at Hakuba Iwatake Mountain Resort with the Hakuba Iwatake Vertical Race, a steep uphill trail race in a Vertical Kilometer style. The series continues with a Hakuba Goryu vertical race in July and a Snow Harp cross-country race in October. Runners can enter as individuals or teams, and the series ranks competitors across all three stages.
The Iwatake opener focuses on climbing: runners start low and ascend the resort slopes toward a finish with wide views over Hakuba Valley and the Northern Japanese Alps. The field is small to mid-sized, with roughly 100 to 499 participants. Divisions range from elementary school runners to master-class athletes. The event uses timing, gives participation prizes, and awards top finishers with local products and gear.
