La Stelvio Santini

SAT, June 6, 2026 · Bormio , Italy

About this race

Every road route at La Stelvio Santini concludes at the summit of the Stelvio Pass, meaning even the shortest option includes a significant Alpine ascent. The series takes place in Bormio, within Italy’s Valtellina region, and is organized in June as a granfondo for cyclists seeking a day focused on climbing rather than a flat, fast course. Participants select from short, medium, and long routes, with distances varying from approximately 60 km to over 100 km, and total elevation gains from around 2,000 to 4,500 meters. The short and medium routes circle out from Bormio, passing through towns like Sondalo, Rogobello, Sernio, and Tovo before heading back for the final Stelvio climb. The long route incorporates the Mortirolo, recognized as one of the most challenging ascents in Italian cycling, before directing participants toward the same high finish. The Stelvio Pass itself is steeped in Giro d’Italia history, and the event embraces this legacy: solo riders, pairs, clubs, and teams navigate the course together, with pairs needing to finish within two minutes of each other.
