6. Pécs-Orfű-Abaliget Félmaraton

The course for the 6. Pécs-Orfű-Abaliget Félmaraton begins at the PTE Viticulture and Oenology Research Institute, passes Orfű’s Garat by the Mill Museum on Füzes Antal promenade, and concludes at Abaliget Camping. This is a local event, not a formal competition, where university staff and students, Orfű and Abaliget residents, relay teams, children, and a dog-friendly start all share the race day atmosphere. Along the way, named checkpoints like Remeterét, Garat, Szomjas vándor, and Gonosz-Manó add character, sticking in your memory more than standard aid stations. Finishers receive water and fröccs from the Pécs University Wine Estate, a unique finisher medal, and lunch prepared with local ingredients and an environmentally conscious approach, including a vegan menu. After the race, there is an opportunity to swim at Lake Abaliget.
