La Médocaine VTT is an annual mass mountain bike event held in late May, starting in Arsac and crossing the Médoc wine region. Over 7,500 participants take part in this one-day ride, with route options ranging from 25 to 80 kilometers, accommodating both casual vineyard tours and more demanding cycling challenges.
The routes follow Médoc roads, passing through renowned wine appellations such as Pauillac, Margaux, Moulis-en-Médoc, and Listrac-Médoc. Participants often wear costumes, can pause for refreshments in château gardens, tour wine estates, and sample Médoc wines. This festive atmosphere makes the event resemble a mobile celebration more than a traditional timed competition.
