Marcha del Mamut

Marcha del Mamut Bilbao is a non-competitive long-distance walking event based in Sestao, on the Bilbao side of Bizkaia. It starts and finishes at Paseo de la Benedicta, with staggered departures in the morning and two route choices: 30 km or 50 km. This Bilbao edition is a first-time stop for the series, and the setup is aimed at people choosing a physical challenge rather than chasing a race time. The routes mix Bilbao’s urban side with nearby Basque landscapes, with the 30 km option presented as the entry point into the Mamut format. That shorter course includes bridges, old streets, and open views, while both distances have aid stations for refuelling. Participants choose a start group a few weeks before the event, volunteers support them along the way, and the event leans into its group identity as “La Manada del Mamut,” the Mamut pack.
