BOTAMARGES 2026

Botamarges is a mountain trail race based around Forna in Alicante, Spain, with listings also placing it in the Dénia area of the Valencian Community. The main race is a UTMB Index 50K event of about 64 km with 3,200 m of climbing, while a shorter 21 km option climbs about 1,100 m. ITRA rates the race at Mountain Level 5, so this is steep, technical trail running rather than a flat ultras-style distance test. The course uses the mountain paths of Alicante province, and the name appears in race listings as Botamarges, Botamarges BTMM, and Botamarges Ultramaraton. Recent results show just over a hundred finishers in the long race, with Sergio Gutierrez Ferrol winning in 6:30:55 and David Garcia Mascarell close behind in second. The organizer is Club de Muntanya de Forna, and the event’s cheeky French tagline, “Tu as de la marge!”, roughly means “You have room” or “You have margin.”
