BC Backyard Ultra

The BC Backyard Ultra begins and ends at Sicamous Public Beach Park in Sicamous, British Columbia. Runners return to the same starting point repeatedly in the backyard ultra format. Each lap guides participants along local trails before they return to base prior to the next start. The race proceeds until each runner achieves their personal limit. This event is included in the Canadian Championship Series and connects to the Big Dog's Backyard Ultra World Championship. The course crosses trails within the Traditional Territory of the Southern Secwepemc First Nation. The format accommodates diverse participants: seasoned ultrarunners, individuals aiming for a personal distance record, and those drawn to the unique, shared cadence of departing, regrouping, and restarting together. As an approved Silver Ticket event, the winner receives a silver coin and a pathway to the Canadian Championship, with World Championship possibilities also linked to strong performances.
