Tour de Tirol - Pölven Trail und Nachwuchsbewerbe

Distances

About this race

Tour de Tirol challenges runners with approximately 75 km and 3,500 m of elevation gain across three days in Söll am Wilden Kaiser, Austrian Tyrol. The event begins with the Söller Zehner, a 10 km race through Söll on three undulating circuits. This is followed by the 42 km Kaisermarathon, concluding with the 23 km Pölven Trail. The race has taken place in Söll since 2006, with all three stages based there since 2011. Alongside the main races, children’s and youth competitions are held, including one before the Söller Zehner and another during the Pölven Trail on Sunday. The Kaisermarathon forms the demanding central stage. It commences in Söll at 698 m, passes through Scheffau and Ellmau, ascends to the Hartkaiser at 1,555 m, descends to Hexenwasser at 38.6 km, and finishes with a steep ascent to the Hohe Salve summit at 1,829 m. This marathon was the venue for the Mountain Running Long Distance World Championship in 2009. The Pölven Trail, introduced in 2014, replaced the former Sunday half marathon and keeps participants primarily on natural terrain, with only about 2 km on pavement as it leads towards Pölven and returns to Söll. Over 1,500 participants from more than 30 nations are anticipated, including solo stage competitors, relay teams, mountain runners, trail runners, walkers in the Gipfelmarsch, and young racers sharing the weekend.
