Citylauf Grevenbroich is a city-centre running event in Grevenbroich offering a race menu from short children's races up to 5 km and 10 km. The start and finish are in the middle of town, featuring a long finish straight and an awards ceremony on the market square. The main 5 km and 10 km races are DLV-measured and use net timing, catering to runners seeking a fast time as well as families and local clubs participating in the shorter distances.
The course is flat and fast, with sections through the park, near the castle, and along the Erft river. The programme also includes 700 m, 1,200 m, and 1,700 m races, a 3x1,100 m relay, and the Grevenbroich city championships. The top three finishers in youth and adult races receive medals, with prizes for new men's and women's course records. Away from the racing, the day includes professional announcing, Sandaiko drums, children's activities including a bouncy castle, local bands, and volunteers assisting with the event's flow.
