Oil Creek 100 Trail Runs

The Oil Creek 100 Trail Runs begin and end at Titusville Middle School in Titusville, Pennsylvania. Each October, runners enter Oil Creek State Park for challenging trail races. The primary distances offered are 100 miles, 100K, 50K, and 25K. The longer events involve significant elevation gain: 17,627 feet for the 100-miler, 11,026 feet for the 100K, and 5,459 feet for the 50K. Cutoff times are strictly enforced, and each entered distance is treated literally: completing your chosen distance is required, or it is recorded as a DNF. Much of the course follows the Gerard Hiking Trail, featuring a 50K loop on difficult single-track marked with approximately 2,000 reflective flags and numerous orange soccer cones. Field sizes are moderate, with planned limits of about 95 runners for the 100-mile race, 100 for the 100K, and 200 for the 50K. Crews, pacers, friends, and family participate throughout the weekend, though the race enforces specific regulations: no dogs or pets, no transfers, no refunds, and no deferments. Titusville Middle School serves as both race headquarters and an aid station, offering complimentary tent camping outdoors or inside the gymnasium, along with paid post-race showers in the locker rooms.
