30 ‘n Piana is a 30-kilometer road race in Campi Bisenzio, near Florence, built around a very practical purpose: it gives marathon runners one last serious long run before the Florence Marathon. The race starts at 8:30 AM from Piazza Dante, with the same central square also used for the finish. Its distance is not a standard mass-race format like a half marathon or 10K; it is chosen because 30 kilometers is long enough to test marathon pace, legs, patience, and preparation without being the marathon itself.
Atletica Campi Bisenzio organizes the event, which draws around 600 runners and serves as a 30 km round of the Regional Uisp Championship under the Florence Uisp committee. The field is mostly marathoners from Tuscany and beyond, using the race as a controlled check on fitness before their main goal. Piazza Dante is a big part of the day: for one morning, the center of Campi Bisenzio fills with runners, club colors, support crews, and residents watching a race that sits close to everyday town life rather than being tucked away on the edge of it.
