One day at the Vedder Mountain Challenge is for trail running, and the next is for paddle-bike-run racing at Cultus Lake in British Columbia. Organized by the Vedder Mountain Trails Association, the weekend offers a 15 km trail run, a 35 km trail run, and a Sunday multisport race built strictly around SUP, riding, and running. The event was formerly called Conquer the Vedder, which still fits the format: the short run climbs and drops 650 meters, while the 35 km route climbs and drops 1,900 meters.
Runners can choose Saturday’s trail races, while multisport athletes can race Sunday solo or split the SUP-Ride-Run into a three-person relay. Relay entry is capped at 50 teams, or 150 athletes, so that side of the weekend stays limited rather than open-ended. Students get a separate 15 km entry option with a valid student card, and people who want the full weekend can register for the whole series at a discount. The event also includes fundraising for VMTA, tying the race directly to the local trail group behind it.
