The course is situated within the Haut Jura Regional Natural Park, utilizing the area's lakes as integral parts of the race rather than mere additions. The long course of the Hedgehog Challenge guides teams through eight municipalities and across five distinct lakes. The broader JuraSwimRun event series also offers shorter and middle-distance options, with swim segments ranging from 1.9 km to 5 km and run segments from 13 km to 37 km.
