Om dette løb
The Zombie Half Marathon is a late-season trail half marathon in Anchorage, hosted annually by the Anchorage Running Club. Costumes are part of the fun: runners are encouraged to dress as zombies, or at least lean into the Halloween mood while covering 13.1 miles. The race is walker friendly, with an early start option, but everyone needs to beat the 1:30 pm cutoff to count as an official finisher.
The route is point-to-point, starting at Goose Lake and finishing at Kincaid Chalet. Runners follow the Chester Creek and Coastal trails, passing West Chester Creek Lagoon before heading toward Kincaid. The race goes ahead whatever the weather or trail conditions are, so cold, wet, or messy footing can be part of the day. Water is offered around miles 4 and 8, and runners are told to carry their own nutrition after that. It also counts toward the Sleeping Lady Challenge, where local runners complete at least three of the club’s six events, and anyone doing the in-person race needs to arrange their own ride from the finish because there is no shuttle back to the start.
